Dictador is a rum brand from Colombia. With a glorious history spanning over 100 years in spirits production, Dictador embodies a lifestyle that is both modern and luxurious. Dictador rums are produced at the Destilaria Colombiana in Cartagena, which takes advantage of its exceptional tropical climate to grow high-quality sugar cane. Dictador 20 Year Old is first aged for 18 years in bourbon casks, followed by a two-year finish in port casks, which lends it roundness and a rich, indulgent character. Richer, finer and more complex than its 12-year-old counterpart, it is characterised by a heady profile, with notes of vanilla, caramel and roasted cocoa. The finish offers notes of dried fruit and exotic fruits. - Origin: Colombia - Appearance: This rum boasts a beautiful coppery colour with orange highlights - Nose: The nose of this Dictador 20-year-old skilfully blends aromas of roasted coffee with pastry notes. The aromas that develop delicately then lead to hints of almonds and nuts. The generous bouquet of tropical fruits (guava and lychee), intertwined with that of spices (ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon), harmoniously underpins the whole. - Palate: The attack of this rum is lively and largely dominated by flavours of roasted coffee. Vanilla and acacia honey gently envelop this full-bodied profile. Herbal and woody flavours lead the dance with vigour, crowned by the freshness of notes of orange, pear and apricot-like peach.
