The Sa type A.A.L.B. is fitted with a battery to enable it to operate in the event of a "power" cut. Opening the control loop triggers the alarm process, which lasts for a minimum of 5 minutes.

The flash emits a light signal to alert the hearing-impaired and deaf to the presence of a fire hazard, enhancing the perception of the emergency evacuation signal in noisy premises.
