Act no. 2010-238 of 9 March 2010 and Decree no. 2011-36 of 10 January 2011 make it compulsory to install smoke detectors in all residential premises. 

These self-contained smoke detectors comply with the EN 14604 standard required by the Morange law. They are insurance-approved detectors, and come with a manufacturer's certificate to present to your insurer.
