This is a mask designed to stop particles being thrown up by the wearer, and can help protect against splashes from the patient.

Duration of protection 3 to 8 hours, duration of permanent wear generally recommended: 4 hours. A wet mask that interferes with breathing must be changed.

There are 4 types of surgical masks: Type I and Type II masks, which can be made resistant to splashes and IR and IIR liquids:
- Type I = EFB (Bacterial filtration efficiency) >95%
– Type II = EFB > 98% (sold through our site)
- Type IR and IIR = Splash and liquid resistant (Attention without elastics only)
